Belief is a prerequisite for success. It dictates our actions and results. By studying this, we can learn how to transition from a vicious cycle to a virtuous one.
Vicious cycle
Low belief creates weak action, which almost always creates bad results. We tell ourselves 'See, I knew it wouldn't work.' This reinforces low belief. Here's an example:
You don't believe you're going to stick to this diet
You start to slip with your actions
You don't see the results you want, so you doubt you can stick to what you say

Virtuous cycle
What happens when you believe something is going to work? You wake up before your alarm clock. You get out of bed and start doing it immediately. You take action.
What happens when you take massive action? You get results. This reinforces your belief. That's the law of attraction. It's the difference between winners and losers.

Why it matters
Elon Musk embodies the law of attraction. His audacious belief in his vision of space travel was met with widespread skepticism. Nevertheless, his conviction fueled his actions.
SpaceX achieved feats once considered impossible, such as landing reusable rockets. His belief and the resulting successes have transformed the narrative around commercial space travel, and propelled his self-belief to new heights.
Next steps
You can leverage the power of belief by:
Being self-aware. Recognize the role your belief plays in dictating your actions and outcomes.
Committing to action. Regardless of your belief level, commit to taking action. Success breeds belief.
Cultivating positive beliefs. Draw from your past successes to reinforce your belief in your capabilities.
Nurturing your belief. Visualize your success. Verbalize it. Say it out loud to truly start believing it.
Celebrating wins. Each success, however small, is a validation of your belief. Celebrate these moments to reinforce your virtuous cycle.
